Maintenance Supervisor Job Overview

• Location: Kenogami, Ontario (near Kirkland Lake).
• Direct Reports: You will lead and schedule a multidisciplinary team including Electricians, Millwrights, Filers, and Machinists.
• Primary Objective: Maximize fingerjoint mill uptime and productivity through effective preventive and reactive maintenance strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Supervise and develop a skilled maintenance crew in a fast-paced environment.
• Work Coordination: Plan and schedule work orders, daily maintenance tasks, and major mill shutdowns.
• Technical Oversight: Oversee the mechanical and electrical performance of all machine.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict health and safety protocols and ensure all work meets provincial regulations.
• Inventory Management: Track work orders and manage spare parts inventory.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Certification: Must hold a valid Red Seal Journeyperson certificate in a relevant trade (e.g., Industrial Mechanic/Millwright or Industrial Electrician).
• Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within a sawmill or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Leadership: Proven experience supervising technical staff, preferably in a unionized setting.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding/fabrication.
• Transportation: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the Kenogami site.
