Summer Experience Student
Location: Schumacher Board Office
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Anticipated End Date: August 21, 2026
Hours of Work 8:00am to 4:00pm (35 hours/week)
This posting is for a new position.
Position Summary: The successful candidate will support the Building Services Department by collecting, reviewing, verifying, and documenting information to support programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, document, and verify inventory of furniture, equipment, and systems across Board facilities.
- Review, validate, and input collected data into the department’s database.
- Organize and prioritize documentation to help define facility needs and support departmental decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with staff and supervisors.
Qualifications:
· Currently working toward a degree from an accredited university or diploma from an accredited college
· Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills; proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
· Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
· Proficient with computer systems, including Excel, Word, and database applications.
· AutoCAD experience is an asset; additional database knowledge is an asset.
· Valid Ontario driver’s license
· Current, Board approved WHMIS Certificate.
Compensation:
Salary in accordance with the current CUPE collective agreement and Provincial Legislation Collective Agreements (dsb1.ca)
Students under 18: $16.60 per hour
Students 18 and over: $17.60 per hour
