Personal Support Worker                                 

Location:                 Schumacher Public School

Start date:               August 31, 2026

Vacancy Details:    Permanent Position (32.5 hours per week) - until June 25, 2027

District School Board Ontario North East is looking for a Personal Support Worker to provide support for a student with special needs at Schumacher Public School.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Assist the student with activities of daily living (feeding, lifts and transfers, skin care, oral hygiene, and toileting)
• Execute the student’s care plan related to the complex medical needs (proper established care for student in the event of seizures and other health related needs)
• Assist with medication related to student’s complex medical needs
• Assist in occupational and physiotherapy strategies as directed by school personnel and the care plan
• Continuously observe the student in the school environment (must report and document unsafe conditions and behavioural, physical, and/or cognitive changes)
• Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly

Position Requirements

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate
• Criminal records check with Vulnerable Sector Screening that is less that 6 months old at time of hire
• Related experience with children with special needs

Compensation: Hourly rate $28.46
