HOME AND COMMUNITY CARE WORKER
Summary
The position of the Home and Community Care Worker is responsible for helping Wahgoshig First Nation clients with their immediate needs such as washing, dressing and maintaining their hygiene, as well as helping them with basic day-to-day or administrative tasks like paying bills.
Responsibilities
- To look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of the Clients using a person-centered approach
- To observe and promote the Client’s choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfilment and other rights
- To prepare food and drink for the Client, being aware of the Client’s choice, likes/dislikes, nutritional needs and cultural requirements
- To accompany the Client on trips into the community
- To ensure as safe as possible the living environment for the Client, whilst respecting the Client’s choice and rights
- Other duties
Qualifications and requirements
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Driver license is an asset
• CPIC and Vulnerable Sector required
