The Teck Centennial Public Library is seeking a

CHILDREN’S LIBRARIAN

Permanent / Part-time

Position Overview:

• Under the direction of the CEO / Librarian, the Children’s Librarian will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the children’s programming and material selection and maintenance for the department to persons of all ages, with a focus on children ages birth through early teens.
•  Hours of work: Varies, including weekdays, weekends, and evenings
• Compensation: $25.61 per hour.
• Reason: Vacancy

Minimum Qualifications:

•  Has a post-secondary diploma or degree in library studies, early childhood education, elementary education, or any field of humanities or social sciences with a relevant career interest.
•  Experience working with children and tweens
•  Experience planning, implementing and evaluating programs.
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•  Excellent organization skills.
•  Good working knowledge of computers.
•  Organization and time management
•  Clear vulnerable sector check.
