Mobile Maintenance Supervisor

Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground
gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake,
North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The recent completion of a highly automated lower mine expansion has
resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production as well as strong free cash flow generation. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance General Foreman the successful candidate will be responsible for
executing Mechanical plans by providing direction and supervision to the Mechanical employees and
ensuring that the production and Maintenance targets and schedules are met as forecast. To contribute to the development of Maintenance employees and the effective operation of the Maintenance while respecting health, safety, and environmental standards.

Primary Responsibilities:
▪ Plan, communicate and follow work for assigned mechanical team;
▪ Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices;
▪ Provide guidance, coaching and mentorship to members of the crew;
▪ Hold yourself and crew members accountable towards attainment of safety and performance targets;
▪ Perform workplace inspections and plan corrective measures if required;
▪ Report work planned and realized daily using the tools provided;
▪ Perform monthly HS meetings with crews presenting the provided material;
▪ Answer queries and handle requests related to maintenance mechanical;
▪ Maximize equipment utilization and minimize downtime;
▪ Prepare reports and complete documentation related to mechanical;
▪ In collaboration with procurement, purchases equipment for current and future needs;
▪ Provide assistance to the General Foreman and Superintendent in the hiring of mechanics;
▪ Complete time entry, vacation requests and scheduling; and
▪ Any other task as directed by direct supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:
▪ Technical training or certification or Diploma of Collegial Studies;
▪ 5-8 years of related experience;
▪ Minimum 3 years of experience in supervisory roles;
▪ Good understanding and working knowledge of the applicable legislation and regulations for Mines
and Mining Plants;
▪ Self-starter who is able to anticipate needs and work independently with minimal supervision;
▪ Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fastpaced, growing work environment;

▪ The individual should have demonstrated a high level of energy, self motivation and strong
organizational skills;
▪ Excellent inter-personal skills together with an ability to facilitate commitment to a cooperative team
effort;
▪ Good communication skills, both orally and written with both internal and external contacts and the
ability to work with all levels of the organization; and
▪ Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.

Schedule: 5,4,4,5 rotating schedule
